Your hiring process is broken. Here is why.
Every step you add costs days. Every day, the best candidates get hired by someone faster. By the time your interview happens, you are choosing from whoever is left. Here is the process from start to finish.
Ten candidates under $20 an hour on Monday. Watch the pool shrink.
A good hourly worker gets a job in 24 hours or less, and ten agencies are calling them. Every bottleneck below costs days. Every day costs you the best of the pool.
Sourcing. You send the order for a job under $20 an hour. We find ten qualified people.
Right certifications, right shift, cleared to your standard. Three are excellent, four are solid, three are okay. All ten could start tomorrow.
Resumes required.
Most hourly workers do not have one and have never needed one. Our recruiters sit with them and write it. That takes a day. In that day, the three best candidates take a start date somewhere that did not ask.
Interviews scheduled.
Your calendar has an opening Thursday. Between now and then, the four solid candidates are called by other agencies and other employers, and they say yes to the first one with a real start date.
The interview. You meet the three who are left.
You run a careful interview and pick the best of the three. They are the three nobody else picked. The process did not weed out the weak candidates. It waited until the strong ones were taken.
Placement. Seven days after you needed someone.
You place from the three worst candidates in the pool. If they leave for 50 cents more an hour next week, the whole cycle starts again.
Two bottlenecks. The best seven candidates lost to your competitors. You placed from the three worst.
You give us the requirements Monday. The three best start Tuesday morning. See below.
Same ten candidates. No bottlenecks. You get the best three.
You send the order and your requirements.
Certifications, lift, shift, drug screen, background. We screen all ten to your standard. No resume, no calendar.
We send you the best three and give them a start time.
You said yes first, so you get first pick. The other seven get placed with your competitors.
Placement. The interview happens on your floor, on the first morning.
The three best show up to start. Before they clock in, your supervisor spends 15 minutes with them on the floor. That 15 minutes is the interview. If the first week is not right, call us and a replacement is sent.
Each step was built for a different kind of hire.
The resume tells you nothing about a $16 an hour worker.
- The best hourly workers do not have one. They were hired by a supervisor who watched them work.
- AI writes them now. 71 percent of candidates use AI to write their resume, according to more than 3,100 hiring managers surveyed by HireVue in 2026. A polished resume for a $16 an hour job tells you who used a chatbot, not who will run the machine.
- It costs a day. The day the best candidates get hired somewhere else.

The interview protects you from costs you already pay us to carry.
- Bad fit? A replacement is sent, often the next day, at no extra recruiting charge.
- Unemployment claims run on our account, not yours.
- Payroll, workers compensation and dismissal are ours. You are paying a premium to remove that risk. The interview does not remove more risk. It removes the speed you paid for.
A bindery operator with 23 years of experience, lost to a resume.
A printing customer needed a bindery operator. We found one with 23 years of experience working at the customer’s direct competitor. She was not looking. We convinced her to consider a move and presented her.
She had no resume, because she had never needed one. The customer would not schedule an interview without one. In the two days it took to write it, another competitor hired her.
The resume rule did not protect the customer from a bad hire. It cost them the best bindery operator in the market.
Keep your standard. Drop the wait.
- 1Tell us your requirements
Certifications, lift, shift, drug screen, background. We screen to them before anyone is sent.
- 2Let us pick
That is what the bill rate pays for.
- 3Start people the same day or the next day
This one change puts you first in line for the best workers.
- 4Move the interview to the first morning
The worker shows up to start. Your supervisor spends 15 minutes with them on the floor before they clock in. Same read as a formal interview, and the person is already there.
- 5Judge the first week, and if it is wrong, call us
A replacement is sent. That is the model working as designed.

Interviews belong above $20 an hour.
Over $20 the market changes. At $25 to $30 and up, candidates are scarce, they stay longer, and a resume and interview tell you something real. C3 runs full interview processes for direct placement, engineering and skilled trades. This page is about temporary and temp to hire roles under $20.
Are you asking us to lower our standard?
No. Your requirements (certifications, lift, shift, drug screen, background) stay exactly where they are and we screen to them before anyone is sent. We are asking you to drop the resume and the scheduled interview for hourly roles, because those two steps cost days, and every day the best candidates are hired somewhere else.
What if the person you send is not right?
Call your recruiter and a replacement is sent, often the next day. Recruiting is already inside the bill rate, so there is no second fee and no unemployment claim on your account. That is the protection you are paying for, and it works better than an interview.
Can we still meet the person before they start?
Yes, on the first morning. The worker arrives to start, and your supervisor spends 15 minutes with them on the floor before they clock in. That is the interview. It gives the same read a formal interview would, without the one to four day gap in which the candidate takes another job.
Does this apply to skilled and salaried roles?
No. This applies to roles under about $20 an hour. At $25 to $30 an hour and up, candidates are scarce and a resume and interview matter. C3 runs full interview processes for direct placement, engineering and skilled trades searches.

Give us the requirements. Start people tomorrow. Judge the first week.
If the people we send are not the strongest you have seen for the rate, tell us. Written quote within 24 hours.
